Endorsements for Tim Allred

The following endorsements have been shared with Tim in support of his 2025 AIHS Board nomination.

Elissa Scott, VIC

I had the pleasure of serving alongside Tim Allred on a voluntary board, including a period where we co-chaired together.

Tim is an incredibly hard-working and strategic leader, with a strong understanding of governance and a genuine commitment to community. He is generous with his time, always prioritising the needs of others, and brings both professionalism and authenticity to everything he does.

Tim’s ability to foster connection, think strategically, and deliver outcomes makes him a highly valuable contributor to any board or leadership role.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Tim Allred through our work together, as well as his leadership as the innovator behind the Young Safety Professionals Network. Tim is a dynamic leader whose commitment to both innovation and safety has always set him apart. His dedication to fostering collaboration, along with his extensive industry knowledge, makes him an invaluable asset to any safety leadership role.

As something who values forward-thinking approached to safety, I’m confident that Tim’s insights and passion will significantly benefit the AIHS Board. He consistently demonstrates an ability to bridge emerging ideas with practical safety applications, ensuring safer outcomes for all.

Steven Cucé, VIC

I am honoured to endorse my colleague and friend, Tim, for a position on the AIHS Board.

Having known Tim for more than 15 years, I have witnessed his unwavering commitment to safety, his authentic leadership, and his ability to empower others to make better safety choices. Tim brings a collaborative, inquisitive, and genuine approach that inspires those around him. His vision, integrity, and dedication make him uniquely placed to contribute meaningfully to the future direction of the Institute.

I cannot think of anyone more suited to this role, and I am proud to support his nomination.

Shannon Cheal, VIC

I am pleased to provide my endorsement for Tim Allred's nomination to the AIHS Board. During our many years of voluntary service on a not-for-profit board, with Tim as Co-Chair and me as Secretary, I observed Tim's strong governance leadership and commitment to advancing the organisation's goals.

Tim brings a solid understanding of board governance, showing excellent fiduciary oversight while keeping focus on the organisation's purpose. Tim's collaborative approach creates inclusive board environments that make good use of diverse expertise. He is able to turn policy into practical strategies that drive real improvements.

What stands out about Tim is his genuine passion for empowering safety professionals and building organisational cultures that put worker wellbeing first. His careful analysis, combined with authentic commitment to helping others, ensures decisions are both evidence-based and ethically sound. I recommend Tim without reservation.

Tim Gilchrist, QLD

Tim is a natural fit for the AIHS Board and someone I believe who can drive the improvements members and the profession more broadly are desiring.

I met Tim 10 years ago through the Young Safety Professionals, an AIHS (then SIA) initiative he co-founded. His leadership those years ago connected the current emerging generation of Safety Professionals in capital cities across Australia. This is the kind of leadership and investment he was putting into the profession ten years ago, let alone what he is capable now after a further decade in practice.

I have had the pleasure of working adjacent to Tim for the past four years and have been continuously supported and impressed with his output, but also by his values and integrity. He carries the title of Dr, but walks alongside anyone with care and an attitude of service to community.

Tim will support the institute to maintain its way while driving the improvements which will cascade down to safer workplaces in the years to come.

Jan Marchant, VIC

I have known Tim since 2018 and I made the best decision to appoint Tim to the role of Senior Zero Harm Advisor at Downer Asset & Development Services. Finish your PHD I said, and Dr Tim listened.

Tim is a very experienced health and safety leader and has such enthusiasm and passion that not only benefits industry and profession, it will also benefit the AIHS as a Board member.

Having worked closely with Tim in the same organisation, through the AIHS and now collectively as Client and Industry Partner, I am pleased to endorse Tim for the role of Director at the AIHS.
